Spotted this in a store south of Seattle today and nearly barfed!
With nearly 3 months to go till D-Day, I’m starting to immerse myself if baby-land and finding the whole infant scene fascinating. So much choice, so many brands and so damn expensive!
Before we got married I read One Perfect Day by Rebecca Mead. It’s a brilliant book about the daftness of the whole wedding industry.
Wonder if she’s got one about the baby industry in the oven too?!
Might write it myself!

Ugh…..how dreadful that people are literally ‘cashing in’ on a new baby! Those baby clothes were ‘hideous’ – I always found that for a very small baby, the look must be clean and simple and very angelic, therefore, white was always my choice. As baby filled out then depending on the sex, you could move into a hint of the pastel colours. Only when the baby was sitting and more advanced did I dress according to the gender. Good Luck Mel and Ashley for the most important time of your lives….xx
If you want a whole scad of baby books (some of which are actually pretty good), let me know – would be happy to get them off our hands 🙂
Thanks for the advice Patricia. My cousins turned out quite stylish so it must have been down to you. 😉
Ian – thanks, but we have loads from my brothers. Which one’s did you think were good?
*shocked face* Oh my goodness!
