John West Tuna Ad – No Drain?

IMAGE_157 (4)

Spotted this ad for John West Tuna near my flat at the weekend. I’m not sure what the bloke with the fiddle is all about but my eye was drawn to the USP – “No Drain Tuna”

Now they’ve obviously done some market research and found that some consumers are reluctant to buy their product because it’s too “fiddly”.

(I think I’ve just got the fiddle reference while writing that last sentence…………groan!)

But is our time so precious that we’re now looking to save a few seconds while opening a can of fish?

Maybe it’s because we’re too busy blogging and tweeting?

I’ll be “trawling” your comments for an answer soon I expect!

Interesting point about their usp Mel thought you would have got the fiddle reference earlier !
I think the marketing so far is pretty good it persuaded my fiance to buy it lol .
On a serious note most people buy the tuna for sannies etc for work or school so if it saves time and is less mess in the morning it must be a good thing.

@Towlie – yes about getting it earlier but I hadn’t seen the TV ad which is an interesting angle. The print ad wasn’t as obvious (to me) on it’s own. Interesting thing is that when I went to the supermarket on Sunday it was out of stock so it’s obviously working!

As always great advertising from John West.
