Alistair Darling’s budget yesterday raised a few eyebrows, and I dare say has tightened a few belts in beer-quaffing and gas-guzzling circles.
Find out how his sums affect you with this nifty little Online Budget Calculator from the BBC!

If it is, check out the money program tonight on BBC 2 at 7pm for some insight and tips on how to Take Back Your Life!
Did you know that two million emails are sent every minute in the UK or 3 billion per day?
Ray Tomlinson wrote the first emailing code in 1971:
“I do feel proud of this accomplishment. In some sense it was such a simple thing to do at the time, but it has had ramifications through many people’s lives. What I didn’t anticipate is how fast it would grow once it started growing.”
Thanks Ray - I’m just off to photostat some memos……

OK so it’s only just launched, but the results are pretty bad. I’m struggling to understand the benefits to be honest. But as someone’s just commented at DaveN’s blog, Rome wasn’t built in a day. However I’m sure the Roman’s had better foundations!
I just tried to add an article but it crashed on me
From About Wikia Search:
“We are aware that the quality of the search results is low.” - No sh*t!
“…before we start, we have no user feedback data. So the results are pretty bad. But we expect them to improve rapidly in coming weeks, so please bookmark the site and return often.” - OK…..
They have picture results returned too - not sure who the guy on the right is!

Will revisit soon….

Made a new year’s resolution to get fit, lose weight and stay off the smokes?
Well join me in joining The Times Health Club for FREE!!!

You sign up, plug in a few details like your height, weight and target poundage, and then use the tools to track your progress.
They’ve added a Community aspect too with forums and groups etc, but the best thing is you can nominate motivators who’ll get weekly updates on your progress, so they can give you a good hiding over email if you’re slacking.
Check out my profile here - http://melcarson.timeshealth.co.uk
It all looks quite secure with some decent privacy settings - I wonder how long before a Facebook app gets written for it?

Read at the weekend that Stephen Fry thinks Tim Berners-Lee is the greatest living Englishman.
Who do you think is? Ian Botham gets my vote every time!
Also he makes an interesting point as to the .co.uk domain extension for our websites.
Why do we not just use .uk?
